Over the last two years we have been working firstly with the consultant and then the client’s representative at Gaunts Estate in Wimborne in Dorset, to help design and install all of the pre insulated pipe work to three large separate areas of the estate connecting to three large A/D plants.

Within our scope of works was to install over 1600 mtrs of various sized Rehau pre-insulated pipe work, and to fully install 12 plant rooms around the site complete with all the necessary pipe work, PHE, pumps, valves etc.
The estate is privately owned and we have worked closely with the client to integrate the new plant rooms into the various properties whilst all the buildings have been used or occupied.

This work has now led us to be involved with another company who are employing us to carry out the M&E and Renewable elements of work connected with A/D plants on three separate estates in Wales, with further projects in the South West expected to be signed shortly.

Gaunts Estate near Wimborne, Dorset is the site of three new district heating
schemes, powered by three separate anaerobic digestion plants.
Throughout the schemes, 1600m of REHAU’s flexible, pre-insulated
RAUVITHERM pipework is being installed to connect the AD plants to the
various farms, dwellings and countryside buildings on the estate.
The pipework was specified by Derek Moss from Gaunts Estate who is
overseeing the whole green energy installation, and was chosen as part of a
supply and install package from specialist REHAU installers PES Limited of
Coventry.
Derek was impressed by the responsiveness of both REHAU and PES, and by
the care taken and the effort put in during the installation.

RAUVITHERM jointing system

Updated on July 6, 2015

The RAUVITHERM jointing system uses REHAU’s EVERLOC™ leak-proof
compression sleeve technology which has been proven over 500 million
times to deliver a permanent, leak free joint in underfloor heating and
plumbing applications. Fitted easily using a compression tool, it allows
installers to make a joint in around half the time it would take to make a
conventional joint.

The pipework itself features closed cell crosslinked PE foam to provide high
insulating performance and a robust LLD-PE outer jacket bonded to this
which withstands demanding on-site conditions and prevents water ingress.

It is supplied in long coils up to 300m and at Gaunts Estate it has been
installed in trenches between 0.5 and 1.5m deep in runs of up to 200m. The
main pipe runs are in REHAU’s 63mm RAUVITHERM Duo pipework, with
50mm, 40 and 32mm pipe sizes used for the separate distribution spurs.

The scale of the AD project and the technical innovation which is on display
has attracted a great deal of interest from the UK and overseas and High Lea
farm on the Gaunts Estate is currently being used as a demonstration project
by Green Gas.
